Brandy Morman - Gone but not forgotten
Last weekend an old friend of mine was killed tragically in a car accident in Longview, Texas. I generally don’t blog much about these types of things as they are fairly private but knowing Brandy how I did, I think she would want our story to be told.
I met Brandy in 2000-2001, back when we were all supporting Pat Green and traveling all over Texas to see any show he would play. She always had a huge smile on her face and loved music right down to the core of her heart and it was people like Brandy, that we founded the idea of Galleywinter on… people that love music and just want to do life with others that love music. She was there from the inception of the idea (she was member number 72 out of the 10,000+), was always up for a road trip with those she loved and I would even go as far to say that she helped set the mold for friendships, marriages, births, roommates, road trips and music supporters that have all been formed out of this music scene. And it’s that reason that I feel that I need to write about it. We haven’t seen much of each other in the past few years, but those few times we caught up at a show.. it was like no time had even passed. I’ll miss her greatly. Here’s a pic that remind me most of her character… having fun with all her friends (Brandy is on the far right).

If you can, head over to Radio Free Texas and donate towards helping her family. All money collected through that donation link will go straight to Brandy’s Mom to help with the expense of losing a loved one.
Memorial services are in Denton on Wednesday at 7pm. The service will be held at the Deberry Funeral Home at 2025 W. University Drive.

What a tragic loss! As mentioned already, Brandy was a bright spot in many of our lives. She was always smiling and I never saw her in a bad mood. I felt honored to have known her in my lifetime. God Bless the Family! We will all miss her!
It’s always terrible to hear about such tragic loss. My condolences go out to y’all and her loved ones.
I saw this blog about Brandy and thought I would add a comment to it.
My mom and my sister both worked with Brandy at Centex. I always loved to go to visit my mom at work so I could see Brandy and tell her all about whatever boyfriend I may have had that day. I hadn’t seen her in a few years since she moved to Austin but anytime I was around her she always made me laugh and smile =)
When I heard what had happened my heart sank.. It’s not fair how bad things happen to good people, but she will be greatly missed!

Man, sorry to hear about this.
