Goin’ Home
This is an older song by Bleu Edmondson that popped into my head yesterday. I’ve been going through a rough time here lately and I think that I’m on the path to get things in order and clear my head. I listen to this song and several verses ring true for where I am. One of my favorites is “But I’ve seen salvation rollin’ down east I10″. Anyone that has been on I10 knows there is nothing there… which is sometimes where we find true Salvation. When we’re down to nothing, stuck in the most desolate place… you can either sit in your sorrow or you can look for Salvation.

Goin’ Home - Bleu Edmondson
Caught a Greyhound in west L.A.
I Got a heavy load, there’s nothin more to say
Cause I’m goin’ home
I climbed the mountain and touched the sun
I played the role, but you know I ain’t the one
I’m goin’ home
I broke down east of nowhere, I felt the darkness come down on me
But there’s a place where I can go, I’ll never be alone
I’m goin’ home
I’ve been around, and I’ve seen some things
Well I ran with outlaws, I laid down with queens
Oh, I’m goin’ home
They took me out, they took the best of me
I wanna see that river, Lord I wanna be free
Oh, I’m goin’ home
I broke down east of nowhere, I felt the darkness come down on me
But there’s a place where I can go, I’ll never be alone
Oh, I’m goin’ home
So ask yourself where the wind begins,
But I’ve seen salvation rollin’ east down I10
They dropped me off outside the Central Trust,
I can feel the sunshine and I can taste the main street dust
Oh, I’m goin’ home
Broke down east of nowhere, I felt the darkness come down on me
But there’s a place where I can go, I’ll never be alone
Oh, I’m goin’ home
Caught a greyhound bus in west L.A.
I’ve got a heavy load, there’s nothin’ more to say
