Steamboat 09 – Day 2
Day 2 brings us to the first full day of music here in Steamboat. The Rockfarmers (think all the Braun brothers on one stage) were the first up in the Grand Ballroom and it flowed straight into Jason Eady kicking off the show at Bear River. I opted to go straight to Eady due to wanting to see the whole show and get a good spot. The first show in Bear River has been a tradition of ours no matter who is playing, but it seemed like most people knew who Eady was and the show hit it off in true Steamboat fashion with Gordy Quist (Band of Heathens) sitting in and a guest appearance by Kevin Welch to sing backup.
We left the Bart Crow Band a little early and made our way down to the Big Tent to catch Stoney (with Brandon Jenkins). It seemed like our entire crew was mostly in one place for Stoney and was definitely a riot with everyone signing along! A quick trip back up to the condo for dinner and then back down the mountain where we split up to all see different shows. You had your pick of Robert Earl Keen, Micky and the Motorcars, Josh Grider/Cory Morrow up the Gondola or an intimate acoustic show with Doug Moreland and the old Compound friends. Yeah.. hard choices to make for sure! Especially with guest appearances popping up in every single show.
I think I turned in around 5am this morning and I’m about to go take a nap and get ready for another crazy round of music today! Be sure to also visit the Musicfest Live blog as they have lots of good videos from the events of Day 2. I’m loving their Best Of Twitter posts!

I’ll leave you with this video of Jason Eady singing Money’s All Gone (I assume it’s the title since it’s a new one) and Day 2′s full set of photos..
Thank you so much for sharing. This means the world to those of use that cannot be there this week.
