Steamboat - Day 2
Day 2 started off late with a lot of snowboarding so we choose to make our first show The 5:00 Ryan Bingham show down in the tent. Shortly before we left I ran into someone in the hall that told me Bingham had flown in Marc Ford to play with them and had asked Adam Odor play bass. I’m going to go ahead and throw it out there but I’m pretty sure this was the best concert of the week in my opinion. Corby and Marc played together well and I can’t say how much I enjoy watching Adam play bass. I’ve got a full version of Bread and Water on video but I’ll give you this intro to Sunshine.
From there we heard that Brandon Rhyder was going to play a make up show that was canceled at the Grand before Hayes and Stoney started. And as luck would have it… that’s exactly where we were headed. Brandon kicked off the night with a solid show and it appeared that word had spread because there were a ton of people there early. Hayes came on with a stripped down acoustic show and invited Ray Willie Hubbard up to play a couple songs with him. Hayes’ new material is awesome and I was amazed to see how many people sang along. Up next Stoney took the stage with a nice addition of Brandon Jenkins. Wow… The sound that came off that stage was one of the most beautiful things I’ve heard from the band in quite some time. It’s amazing the talent that Stoney has in addition to every band member.

That pretty much wrapped up our Day 2 and we headed back to the condo for some guitar playing and late night fun. I’ll leave you with the picture of all us crammed in the elevator heading out to Bingham…

Thanks for doing this, Tank, for those of us that can’t be there.

I am so envious! I would have loved to see Marc Ford with Bingham (and Brandon Jenkins join the Arsenals for that matter). Thanks for the updates!

Sorry this one took so long… had to go rescue a girl from the hospital that hurt her knee skiing. Off to the shows…
