The Bingham Weekend Recap
Night one of the Bingham Superfecta (4 shows in a row) got off to a horrible start when the 1st show was canceled due to bad weather in Austin. We all regrouped and reorganized plans and geared up for the remaining 3 shows with a ton of enthusiasm despite not being able to see the first show.
The entire weekend was amazing. I got to see friends that I haven’t seen in forever and a band that will soon join the ranks of those that sell out every venue they play in. What is unique about a Trifecta is how each venue brings a different dynamic of things you feel at the show. For instance, the show on Friday had a vibe about the music that just refreshed your soul and the crowd was sort of laid back. Then you contrast that to Saturday where the energy from crowd at the show was just amazing.. everyone was screaming and you could feel the waves of energy flow through Gruene Hall… or maybe that was just the floor bowing up and down…

Then something strange happens on the third show of most Trifecta’s. The newness of seeing the band in concert wears off and you’re left to come face to face with the music and how it hits you in different ways. After Sunday’s show in Luckenbach we all felt it and pretty much agree that if you missed that show… you missed something pivotal in life. Bingham played a few new/old songs not in the regular rotation and had a whole cast of players on stage with him at any given time.
I just can’t express how much fun this road trip was. Music is best heard when it can be shared and enjoyed so thank you to everyone that made it out and shared the weekend with me.
Here are some pics. I forgot my camera on Day 2. sorry…
