[The Classics] Bingham – The first show
Everyone can pretty much remember the first show where they saw their favorite artist, but very few get to relive that experience… and by sheer dumb luck I am one of the few. The first time I saw Ryan Bingham was in Steamboat 2006 and my buddy Josh had been raving about him for months. It was a killer show and looking back it was definitly a turning point in my journey to understand what deep meaningful music is. When I got back to Texas, sitting in my Inbox was the recorded set he did. So every once in a while I listen to it and it brings back som many memories.
In honor of that feeling this morning and with the increased interest in Bingham these days I figure I’d make this set available to everyone. It’s rough, rowdy and over 2.5 years old.. but it’s good :)

Thanks for posting those tracks. That was my first time seeing Bingham too. That day I think I was debating between going to see Ryan Bingham (who I had never heard of) or the EYB.

So I was a year late to the party, but I sure am glad I made it.
You have officially made my day…thank you.

PS – It was years, not months. You just don’t pay attention.

See your YouTube video over there of Jeremy Plato/Jesse Fritz? My son Tristan is in the background wearing the white hat turned backwards! I didn’t know about this video, so it’s fantastic to hear and see my baby boy… who is the Road Manager for Ryan Bingham and the guys. They’re in Europe and I miss my son; this helped lots!

thx bud. rough, but better than the studio recordings imo. nothing like messy, vibrant, live recordings. Not to mention being able to hear someone breaking at pool in the background…

where did ryan bingham place in musicfest 2006? Was it in the after show at a small club/bar? I think i was there.
I remember i was drunk and i was like wow this guy has got a rough honky tonk style. it was awesome. i never remembered who it was and have been trying to figure out if it was him or not.
if so it is great he is now playing in the big tent….soon he’ll be headlining.

It was at Bear River right at the base. I think you are thinking about Levelz which was always the late night show.
I think that year Jarrod Birmingham played Levelz so if it was that bar it might have been him. But I think Bingham blows him AWAY :)
